Live Surf Report

Today’s Recommendation

Live forecast data supplied directly by MET Norway for the water just offshore from Crooklets. This is modelled guidance, not a beach safety assessment—always check the RNLI flags and speak to the lifeguards before paddling out.

Understanding the number

Offshore wave height is not beach wave-face height.

The feed reports significant wave height: the average of the highest third of modelled offshore waves, measured from trough to crest. Tide, seabed, wind, period and local banks determine how those waves break at Crooklets.

Crooklets visual guide

What a typical 1–3ft day can look like.

Representative view of 1ft surf
Crooklets · 1ftSmall, gentle lines—the usual starting point for a supervised first lesson.
Representative view of 2ft surf
Crooklets · 2ftMore shape and push; still approachable when wind, tide and lifeguards agree.
Representative view of 3ft surf
Crooklets · 3ftA proper surf with more power, stronger currents and heavier sets.

The 1ft, 2ft and 3ft photographs are representative scale guides, not live Crooklets camera images. Surfers often describe breaking waves differently from forecast significant wave height, so the two figures should not be compared directly.
